Official: Team Spirit transfer-list degster

Team Spirit have officially confirmed the rumors that appeared earlier today regarding the removal of Abdul "degster" Gasanov from the main team. The 20-year-old AWPer was put on the transfer list.

According to the official announcement, the coaching staff decided to bench degster shortly after PGL Major Antwerp 2022, where the Russians took the 3-4th place. The reason stated is the different views of the parties on the organization of the training process and the future of the team as a whole.

The change in the Team Spirit roster was commented on by the club's CEO, Nikita Chukalin. In particular, he noted that a new player to fill in the vacated position of the dedicated AWPer will be announced in the near future.

Abdul is a very talented player who has proven to be one of the best not only in the region but worldwide during his time with Spirit. That's why the decision we made was so tough. However, we have a specific plan for the development of the project regarding CS:GO, and we will not disregard it, even for the most talented player. We could not come to an understanding with Abdul so it was mutually agreed to part ways. We understand what kind of player we need and will decide on a replacement in the near future. I thank Abdul for this year and a half of work in our team and I wish him good luck on his journey.

Team Spirit signed degster at the beginning of last year. With him on board, the team had deep runs at several big online events and also reached the semifinals of the recently concluded Major in Belgium.

The next tournaments in Team Spirit’s calendar are Roobet Cup 2022 (June 22-30) and IEM Cologne 2022 (July 5-17).
