All tickets for IEM Rio Major 2022 sold out in an hour

The IEM Rio Major 2022 organizers on their social media announced the completion of ticket sales. According to the post, the fans purchased all the available tickets in one hour.

Tournament operator ESL and the distributor did not disclose the total number of tickets sold. Only a limited number of seats have gone on sale, as some fans bought tickets for ESL Rio Major 2020, which was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, and in case of refusal to get the money back, they will be able to attend the upcoming Major.

The beginning of ticket sales for IEM Rio Major 2022 was overshadowed by problems with the ticket operator’s website, which became unavailable shortly after the start of sales. This resulted in the outrage of the Brazilian fans, after which many members of the professional CS:GO community called on ESL and Valve to move the tournament from the Jeunesse Arena, which seats 15-18 thousand people, to a larger stadium.

IEM Rio Major 2022 will take place from October 31 to November 13. The tournament will feature 24 teams from all over the world competing for a total prize pool of $1 million.
