m0NESY uses smoke grenade bug against Imperial at PGL Major Antwerp 2022
G2's AWPer Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov used a smoke grenade bug previously unknown to the broad public during the game against Imperial in the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 Legends Stage. João Vitor "pigo" Delfino from Cruzeiro was the first to notice this and posted a video of the moment on his Twitter.
The video shows how throwing a grenade in a certain prearranged way helped m0NESY get a view from the "window" to the center of Mirage, even though this position was covered by the opponent's smoke. Having a gap in the smoke grenade, Osipov managed to get two kills while remaining invisible to his opponents.

m0NESY on his Twitter explained that his actions were not prohibited, since the PGL admins allowed the use of this type of grenade back in the last RMR tournament.
In response to criticism from some users, Osipov replied that he did not see anything illegal in his actions. He drew attention to the fact that there are other similar bugs in CS:GO that are used at a professional level. In particular, the Russian recalled that on Ancient it is possible to throw an incendiary grenade from the terrorist spawn directly to the center of the map and the grenade will not flare up during a long flight.
The match between G2 and Imperial, where m0NESY used the new smoke grenade bug, ended with the victory of G2, who sealed the deal 16:12. The next opponents of the Europeans at PGL Major Antwerp 2022 will be Heroic, the meeting against whom will take place today, May 15, at 13:00 MSK.
