Report: Evil Geniuses intend to sign Party Astronauts and Carpe Diem rosters

Evil Geniuses intends to make an offer to the Party Astronauts and Carpe Diem players, who are currently competing as separate squads without the support of any club, Jaxon.gg reports.

The source did not specify how exactly the two new rosters will fit into EG's current CS:GO division, which already has its main team with Jake "Stewie2K" Yip as IGL. The journalists suggested that in the future the organization may be represented by one main squad and two academy teams.

The Party Astronauts roster was created in 2020, with its core consisted of the New England Whalers lineup, whose members became free agents after the club's departure from the professional CS:GO scene. Since then, the team has undergone several roster changes and, in its current form, won several regional tournaments, and also took part in the ESL Pro League Season 15, finishing in the last place.

The Carpe Diem players have been playing together since the beginning of this year. During this time, the team became the winner of one ESEA North American tournament and took the second place in the regional part of the ESL Challenger League Season 40.

The news about the possible restructuring of the Evil Geniuses CS:GO division appeared shortly after the statement of the organization’s CEO, Nicole Jameson, regarding the intentions to make changes to the current roster. The executive made the announcement following the elimination of EG from BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2022. This failure continued the team's streak of unsuccessful performances this year, during which Stewie2K and company did not manage to achieve any significant results.
