interz: "After Katowice, for some reason, many teams didn't want to practice with Gambit"

Timofey "interz" Yakushin from Gambit on his Telegram channel spoke about the difficulties his roster faced after IEM Katowice 2022. He noted that many teams refused to hold joint praccs with the Russian team for reasons unknown to him.

After IEM Katowice 2022, starting on March 3, we started training hard, which we will do until March 23 (our first official match). After Katowice, it was a little difficult to find praccs. For some reason, many teams did not want to practice with us. Maybe it is just a coincidence. But now everything is fine. As for the name under which we will play at the EPL, we are waiting for confirmation from ESL. Now we are most focused on our game – we practice and play FPL after. It is not clear how all the circumstances will affect our game, but we will try to adapt and show our best.

Gambit came under the sanctions by a number of tournament operators amid hostilities in Ukraine. The club, along with Virtus.pro, is accused of having ties with the Russian government.

As part of the ongoing ESL Pro League Season 15, Gambit was allowed to play under a neutral name. Yakushin’s squad will compete in Group C, the matches in which will take place from March 23 to 27.
