Elisa suspends Russian clubs from participating in their events

Tournament operator Elisa has announced the suspension of all teams representing Russian clubs from their events. This decision was made amid the ongoing hostilities on the territory of Ukraine.

Elisa is currently hosting Elisa Invitational Winter 2021, which will conclude on March 6. Even though there are no teams left belonging to clubs from Russia, Entropiq, whose lineup consists mostly of Russian players, continues the competition. According to Elisa's Manager Olli-Pekka Villa, Aleksei "Nickelback" Trofimov's roster is not in danger of being disqualified as he represents the Czech organization.

Elisa's championships are part of a previously announced tournament series with Relog Media and Funspark. Following the results of the events held by these three companies, teams earn points in a separate ranking to receive invites to Elisa Champion of Champions, scheduled for autumn 2022.

Earlier, tournament operator BLAST also suspended Russian clubs from participating in their events and canceled the qualifier for BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2022 for the CIS region.
