Dexerto: fnatic bench smooya

fnatic have excluded AWPer Owen "smooya" Butterfield from the team's main roster, Dexerto found out from the sources close to the team.

It is reported that the decision to part ways with Butterfield was made even before fnatic completed their IEM Katowice 2022 run. The reason for putting the AWPer on the bench was not mentioned.

According to the source, fnatic have already begun looking for a new sniper and are in talks with some potential newcomers. The official information about the change in the roster is expected to be published in the near future.

Today, February 21, smooya indirectly confirmed the information about being benched on his Twitter. "News coming soon. Unsure what to say about everything, guess I’ll have an announcement soon", he wrote.

The Britt has been representing fnatic since October last year, when he joined the team for a three-month trial period. Since then, the roster's best achievement was a victory at DreamHack Open November 2021 and REPUBLEAGUE Season 2.
