Sprout replace TYLOO at IEM Katowice 2022

The organizers of IEM Katowice 2022 have announced the change in the list of participants. TYLOO, who will not be able to fly to Europe due to coronavirus restrictions, are to be replaced by Sprout.

Initially, the TYLOO’s slot was supposed to go to Team Spirit or forZe, but the Russian clubs could not provide guarantees for the timely settlement of all visa issues. Sprout received an invite based on the rules prescribed in the tournament regulations regarding the replacement of participants and its position in the ESL Pro Tour ranking.

The German squad will thus start off at IEM Katowice 2022 from the Play-In stage, which will take place on February 15-16. In addition to Sprout, fifteen more teams will fight for eight slots in the group stage.

IEM Katowice 2022, the prize pool of which amounts to $1 million, will be held in a LAN format. The playoff matches will play out at the 11,000-seater Spodek Arena.
