Dexerto: maLeK is about to sign contract with Evil Geniuses
Former G2 coach Damien "maLeK" Marseille may lead the Evil Geniuses roster. According to Dexerto, the ongoing negotiations between the French specialist and the club from North America are close to a successful conclusion.
maLeK parted ways with G2 after PGL Major Stockholm 2021, where the team finished second. The coach noted that a mutual decision to part was made before the start of the prestigious championship.
If signed by Evil Geniuses, Marseille will replace Damian "daps" Steele, who has been coaching the North American roster since July this year. Under the leadership of the Canadian coach, the team did not achieve any significant results and parted ways with Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz, Owen "oBo" Schlatter and Michal "MICHU" Müller in early November. Thus, there are two active players remaining in the team: Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte and Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dmitrov.
In addition to the reshuffle announcement, EG also announced their intentions to stay on the professional CS:GO scene and in the future prove the commitment to the North American region. IEM Katowice 2022, which will take place in February next year, will be the next tournament for Evil Geniuses.
