innersh1ne on debut as coach: "I feel empty after every game"

Viacheslav "innersh1ne" Britvin, an analyst of FaZe, in an interview with WePlay Esports’s YouTube channel opened up about his first coaching experience during the ongoing PGL Major Stockholm 2021. According to the Russian specialist, working with the players during official matches is more emotionally draining compared to his main job in the team.

This is my first coaching experience, and it was necessary to move on, to understand what was happening. The job of a coach is much more exhausting emotionally, that is my first impression. I feel empty after every game. From match to match, I learn to interact with the guys, because the communication during official matches is very different from trainings or praccs.

Britvin also noted that during games he acts only as an advisor and rarely calls any specific actions for the round.

I try not to give specific instructions, although in the game against Liquid I made a specific call on Mirage. If anything, I tell the players the general directions. Now, our timeouts are structured so that the first 10 seconds are mine, and in the remaining 20 seconds the players should discuss and decide for themselves what they want to do according to my directive.

Currently, FaZe are one win away from reaching the playoffs of the ongoing Major. In the final round of the Legends Stage, the European team is to compete against Virtus.pro.
