Elmapuddy steps in as Cloud9 coach

Cloud9 announced the signing of former Gen.G coach Chris "Elmapuddy" Tebbitt. The Australian replaces head coach Aleksandar "kassad" Trifunovic, who left the team late last year due to a conflict with lineup captain Alex "ALEX" McMeekin.

Elmapuddy has worked with Gen.G since December 2019. Under his leadership, the North American squad won the 2020 DreamHack Open Anaheim and ESL One Road to Rio, as well as placing high in a number of other regional tournaments. On the eve of the winter break on the pro scene, it became known that the South Korean organization is disbanding the roster, as it is experiencing difficulties with its staffing after the loss of two players.

The next tournament for Cloud9 will be cs_summit 7, which starts tomorrow, January 25. The team will face FURIA, Virtus.pro, and NiP in the group stage of the $200,000 tournament.
