Movistar Riders excluded larsen from the starting line-up
Movistar Riders announced on Twitter that they will not extend the contract of Sebastian "larsen" Larson, who will become a free agent at the end of this month. As a result, the Danish sniper has been removed from the main roster.
larsen has represented the Spanish organization since August 2020. The team has won several Tier 3 tournaments with him, including the ESL Masters Espana Season 8 National Championship, as well as finishing second at the European Development Championship Season 1, which was the last for the Raiders in the past year.
Owen "smooya" Butterfield may take the vacant Movistar Riders spot according to recent rumors. The Brit has been without a contract since last October, when he left the c0ntact lineup after a two-month timeout.
A fifth Movistar Riders player is expected to be unveiled before January 18, as the squad is set to compete in the ESL European Championship Winter. The winner of this upcoming tournament will receive an invite to the prestigious IEM Katowice 2021 Championship.
