ESL banned Rooster player for forgery
Tournament operator ESL banned Rooster player Tyson "asap" Paterson for one year. The Australian was punished for submitting false documents to participate in one of the regional tournaments.
On Nov. 28, ESL Australia was holding a 2-on-2 tournament with an "18+" age restriction. Paterson, 17, applied to participate, after which the organizers, who had player credentials from previous tournaments, began a joint review with ESIC. Team Rooster whas been suspended from DreamHack Masters Winter 2020 as the result.
During the investigation, ESL representatives asked asap to send a copy of his age verification document, but the eSports athlete sent a photo with fake data. The player was informed of a possible disqualification and later confessed to the fraud.
