Evil Geniuses will take place of Team Liquid at the upcoming event, which has been invited as the next team from North America in the ESL ranking. Jake "Stewie2K" Yip's team is currently in the Netherlands and is participating at DreamHack Masters Winter 2020.
Recall that earlier Evil Geniuses have also refused to participate at DreamHack Masters Winter 2020 and BLAST Premier Fall 2020 Showdown due to flight problems. In October, the team held a short boot camp in Europe, during which they've performed at the BLAST Premier Fall Series 2020, where they've finished last.
IEM Global Challenge 2020 will be held online from 15 to 20 December. Liquid, Vitality, Astralis, FURIA, Complexity, Heroic, NAVI and Chaos will fight for the $500,000 in prizes.
