HLTV.org: Liquid, Evil Geniuses & several other NA teams could temporarily move to Europe

Some North American teams are considering a temporary move to Europe for the final stretch of 2020. This is reported by sources on the portal HLTV.org.

Negotiations between several parties involved are still ongoing. According to unconfirmed information, the main initiator is BLAST, which plans to bring to Europe Liquid, Evil Geniuses, 100 Thieves and MIBR to participate in its tournament.

It is expected that the North Americans will arrive after the regional RMR-event IEM New York 2020, which will be held from 6 to 18 October. In that case, the nearest tournament, where representatives of Europe and North America will play together, will be BLAST Premier Fall Series 2020.

Earlier ESL announced IEM Global Challenge 2020 with a prize pool of $500,000, which will be the first LAN event after the pause caused by the coronavirus pandemic and will be held in studio format in Cologne without fans from 15 to 20 December.

The last championship with teams from all over the world was IEM Katowice 2020, which took place from February 24 to March 1. After that, the teams travelled to their regions, from where they continued to participate in online tournaments. Playing teams from Europe and North America on the Internet is impossible because of the ping and the time difference.
