TeamOne gave up on ESL One: Road to Rio - South America

TeamOne CEO Alexandre Peres has published a video message announcing the decision that the team has to miss the qualifying championship for ESL One: Road to Rio, where it has been invited as a South American competitor, because it they are now staying in North America. He explained that the club has decided not to return to Brazil to protect its players from possible infection with coronavirus COVID-19.

At the moment, it is not known who will replace TeamOne with ESL One: Road to Rio - South America. Brazilian teams paiN and Imperial, which took 5th-6th places in qualifying for the Mayor in Rio, are claiming for the vacant slot.

The South American tournament ESL One: Road to Rio will be held April 22-26. Four teams will play for points in the regional rankings and a $10,000 prize pool.
