Employees in Astralis Group have voluntarily agreed to reduce wages
Amid the global COVID19 challenge, the management, employees and most players of Astralis Group have entered a voluntary agreement to reduce salaries by up to 30%.
The voluntary agreement has been entered in solidarity to secure the jobs for all employees in the organization and to avoid being forced to send any employees home on leave with governmental support.
Anders Hørsholt, CEO of Astralis Group comments:
- We are fortunate to operate in a digital industry where most activity can be maintained and even increased online, but like everybody else, we are dependent upon a thriving economy in the surrounding society and our shareholders.
- The fundamental strength of esports as a live- and broadcast product is obvious, however, the coming months will be a challenge for everybody, and in order to maintain a healthy business, we have decided to reduce operational costs significantly.
- This has been achieved through general cost reductions across the organization, but mainly through a voluntary agreement entered by the management, everybody in the administration and most players to reduce overall salaries. The highest-paid will see a pay cut of 30% while junior employees will not be affected. Only a few players have yet to join the agreement, and I am very proud that we as a group demonstrate this kind of solidarity to keep a safety net under all our colleagues.
- This agreement leaves the organization fully intact and operational on all levels. We look forward to being able to normalize the situation and to show our full potential when the world returns to normal. I would like to thank everybody who voluntarily has contributed significantly to this solution, Hørsholt comments.
