Snappi Parts Ways With OpTic Gaming
Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer and OpTic Gaming parted ways Tuesday, leaving the player without a team.
Snappi joined OpTic Gaming's Counter-Strike: Global Offensive lineup in April 2018. Prior to that he played for 12 teams, including Heroic, over the course of his seven-year career in CS:GO. While with OpTic, Snappi led the team to second place finishes at DreamHack Open Summer 2018 and cs_summit 3, plus a third-fourth place finish at StarSeries & i-League Season 6.
Snappi is the fourth player to leave OpTic Gaming in 2019, following Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen in January, René "cajunb" Borg in April and Jakob "JUGi" Hansen in May. Niko returned to the team in March.
Snappi's departure comes amid big news for OpTic Gaming as a whole, following the acquisition of its parent company Infinite Esports & Entertainment by Immortals Gaming Club on Wednesday.
Without Snappi, the OpTic lineup includes Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke, Ismail "refrezh" Ali, Mathias Sommer "MSL" Lauridsen and niko. Casper "ruggah" Due remains head coach.
