Envy Raises Almost $20 Million from New Unnamed Investors
Team Envy, a multi-title esports organization that owns the Overwatch League's Dallas Fuel, received $19,999,315 from unnamed investors, according to documents with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
A page on Street Insider was published Thursday about a new investment from an unnamed investor toward Envy, owners of teams in esports titles like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Overwatch.
The investor declined to disclose their identity publicly, which is noted in the form the investor filled out on Street Insider, but the total amount invested was made public. The almost $20 million in investments will likely go toward support for Envy's various esports teams.
It was previously revealed Epic Games, developer of Fortnite, raised $1.25 billion in investments from big-name companies in Silicon Valley venture capital investment scene, including Vulcan Capital, the multi-billion dollar investment arm of Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Paul Allen.
