Neichel, former COO of ESL, was promoted to co-CEO, a position he shares with Reichert. The demands of the position will be split between Reichert and Neichel, with Reichert focusing on ESL's vision and strategy on becoming the best partner in esports as Neichel works on operational tasks like managing revenue streams and strengthening ESL's "global footprint."
Neichel previously held leadership positions at Activision Blizzard, and he joined ESL in 2017.
Because of Neichel's promotion, ESL's senior vice president of esports Krzysztof Pikiewicz will fill Neichel's former position as COO. He will manage production and internal operations. Pikiewicz joined ESL in 2010.
ESL frequently hosts esports events for games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. ESL is preparing for ESL One New York, a CS:GO event with a $250,000 prize pool. It announced the broadcast talent for the event last week.
