Astralis Wins ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals

Astralis took a 3-1 victory over Team Liquid to become the ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals champion on Sunday.

Astralis started out by dominating in group B of the competition. The team did not drop a single match in its run in group B first beating Optic 16-3 in the best-of-one. Astralis took out SK Gaming and Team Liquid with two 2-0 victories to proceed to the semifinals.

In the semifinals, Astralis dominated FaZe Clan, the team that stripped away its chance to win win IEM Sydney beating them 2-0.

In the grand final match against Team Liquid, Astralis exploded to a 16-1 victory on Dust II, the first map of the series. Team Liquid made things more competitive on the second map, Nuke, but fell short to Astralis who went up to a 16-14 win.

Team Liquid would not go out quietly. Astralis kept things steady in the first half of the third map, Mirage, going up to 8-7 in the half. Astralis looked in control of things from that point on, but Team Liquid was ready to rally. The team went down as much as 13:8, but erased the deficit and came away with a 16:14 win, secured by Keith "NAF" Markovic and his amazing triple kill.

The third map seemed to be in Team Liquid's favor as they took a strong lead in the first half, but eventually fell to Astralis to the scoreline of 16-12.

Astralis clearly look like the best team in Counter-Strike at the moment.
