Daniel Finkler, CEO of BIG, wrote in the press release of the announcement, " For a German organization, this event is by far, next to the Major, the most important tournament in the calendar and we are very grateful for the opportunity to represent Germany at ESL One Cologne."
BIG is in the process of trying out new things this year after finishing 12-14th place at the ELEAGUE Major. The team recently signed Owen “smooya” Butterfield, a move that moved them away from an all German roster. BIG has been on the upswing as of late with a win over Gambit to qualify for ESL One Belo Horizonte.
ESL One Cologne runs from July 3-8, and 16 teams will compete in Cologne, Germany, for a prize pool of $300,000. G2, Fantic, Astralis, FaZe Clan, SK Gaming and Cloud9 are currently the other invited teams at the event.
