ESL Partners With University of York to Provide Esports Content Production Courses

ESL partnered with the University of York to provide courses on esports content production for the universities students, according to Dot Esports.

For students who are registered on the Department of Theater, Film and Television's programs, the esports module will be available this fall as a final year specialization option.

Rob Black, COO of ESL UK, said "This module marks an important step towards the professionalisation of the esports industry, providing a formal career path for much-needed talent. By linking the module with the University of York’s other excellent existing programmes, we can foster talent responsibly, equipping students with the skills they need to access amazing jobs in esports and beyond."

The University of York is not the first university to incorporate a part of esports into their curriculum. Staffordshire was the first U.K. University to add esports to its syllabus, as it offered students a course about the business side of esports in May 2017.
