ESL One Belo Horizonte announced with $200,000 on offer
ESL are returning to Brazil.
ESL have announced the addition of a new event to their 2018 calendar: ESL One Belo Horizonte. Hosted in Brazil's sixth largest city, it will be the first event the tournament organizer is running in the country since the ESL Pro League Season 4 Finals in São Paulo. That event ultimately saw Cloud9 defeat the hometown favorites of SK.

Set to take place from June 13th-17th, the event will only feature eight teams and have $200,000 on offer. In this respect, the event will be similiar to the scale of last year's rendition of IEM Sydney.
The move is surprising as ESL was reported to be moving toward standardized event formats in 2018. Likewise, because of the prize pool, the event will not count as part of the Intel Grand Slam circuit.
No teams have been announced for the event yet, though it goes without saying that SK (or whichever organization they represent in June) will garner one. Rumors of the team leaving the German organization they currently call home from a revived mibr outfit were only strengthened yesterday after an interview with Immortals CEO Noah Whinston.
Further information on ESL One Belo Horizonte is expected to come in the coming weeks, including invited teams, and qualifiers. Tickets starting at $13 will be available for purchase starting tomorrow.
