ESIC temporarily suspends Russian jmqa

The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has temporarily suspended 29-year-old Russian esports athlete Savelii "jmqa" Bragin pending an investigation into alleged breaches of the ESIC Anti-Corruption Code.

The decision follows messages published by Eclipse esports athlete Rasmus "Pihl" Pihl on X, in which a user under the alias jmqa6479 allegedly proposed him to engage in match-fixing.

"The available material includes direct communications in which Mr Bragin appears to solicit or encourage another Participant to engage in conduct inconsistent with the principles of fair competition", ESIC stated. The commission emphasised that the suspension is precautionary and does not represent a final determination of guilt.

jmqa is best known for his stints with Quantum Bellator Fire, with whom he reached the quarter-finals of ELEAGUE Major 2018. He has been without a team since 2021.
