BLAST reveals CS2 tournaments for 2027 – one to be held in Rio de Janeiro

Tournament operator BLAST has announced its Counter-Strike 2 tournament schedule for 2027. The company plans to hold six events, including one in Europe and one in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The locations for the remaining events will be announced later.

Furthermore, BLAST revealed a redesign of the Bounty Series tournament format for 2027. The total number of participants will be halved (from 32 to 16 teams), while all matches will play out on LAN. The competition will be divided into two parts: a group stage (Double Elimination) and playoffs (Single Elimination). The prize pool will be increased to $1.25 million. Teams invited via VRS, as well as the winners of regional qualifiers, will participate in the tournament.

All matches in the 2027 BLAST Open tournament series will also take place on LAN (the first week will take placem in a hotel/studio, and the second in an arena). The competition format will remain the same, and the prize pool will be increased to $1.25 million.

The BLAST Rivals Counter-Strike 2 tournament series will remain unchanged in 2027, with the exception of an increase in the prize pool to $1.25 million.

BLAST's total investment in CS2 in 2027 will amount to $10 million – a $1.5 million leap from 2026. Of this, the organizers have allocated $3 million for prizes, another $4.5 million for club payments, and the remaining $2.5 million will be distributed to organizations as additional incentives.
