Monte signs Rainwaker

24-year-old Bulgarian esports athlete Aleks "Rainwaker" Petrov has signed a full-time contract with Monte. The Ukrainian club officially revealed the news via its X social media account.

Rainwaker played for Monte as a stand-in for the past month. With him, the team placed 9th-16th at BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 1. Petrov replaced Gytis "ryu" Glušauskas, who moved to Astralis last month. Previously, Rainwaker competed for 500.

Monte currently sits 36th in Valve's official Counter-Strike 2 world ranking. The team's next tournament is the Copenhagen Gaming Week Showdown 2026, which will take place from February 12th to 14th in Copenhagen.
