ESL, BLAST and CCT announce switch to Anubis

Updated: BLAST have also announced that they will replace Train with Anubis at their tournaments, starting with BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 1.

Tournament operator ESL announced a change to the map pool for its Counter-Strike 2 tournament: starting January 19, teams will play on Anubis instead of Train.

This means that the IEM Rio 2026 qualifiers, as well as ESL's first event of the new year, IEM Krakow 2026, will be held on the updated map pool.

The organizers of the CCT Counter-Strike 2 tournament series have made a similar decision: Anubis will replace Train at CCT Season 3 Europe Series 13, which kicks off on January 18. BLAST and PGL have not yet made any statements regarding this.

Valve recently announced changes to the official map pool for the fourth season of Premier in Counter-Strike 2: Anubis will replace Train. Notably, Anubis was removed from the map pool last summer in favor of Overpass. Train was added to the CS2 map pool in early 2025.
