Europe takes one slot from Asia at IEM Cologne Major 2026

Following the results of Stage 3 of StarLadder Budapest Major 2025, the regional slot distribution for the next Counter-Strike 2 Major, which will take place in June 2026, has been determined.

Thus, 17 European teams will compete at IEM Cologne Major 2026 instead of 16. Accordingly, the number of Asian squads will be reduced from six to five. The number of representatives from the Americas region will remain the same – 10.

Notably, berths for the upcoming Major are distributed among regions based on the number of teams that advanced to Stage 3 of the previous Major.

IEM Cologne Major 2026 will be held from June 2 to 21, 2026, with 32 squads competing for a share of $1.25 million in prizes. Invites will be issued in April 2026. The competition format will remain the same – three stages and playoffs.
