PGL cancels another CS2 tournament
Tournament operator PGL has announced the cancellation of its event scheduled for October of next year. The reason cited for this decision is a scheduling conflict with another competition, ESL Pro League Season 24. PGL's official statement reads:
PGL announced its Counter-Strike 2 2026 calendar on March 31, 2024. Almost 9 months later, another tournament operator decided to schedule the majority of its events directly on top of the previously announced PGL dates. As a result of this unexpected overlap, several adjustments to the PGL 2026 calendar will be made to ensure the highest competitive standards and to respect the logistical needs of teams and players.
However, the company still plans to hold a different tier 1 CS2 tournament in the same month, from October 22 to November 2, 2026.
Notably, PGL previously announced the cancellation of the Counter-Strike 2 event, scheduled for August 2026, for the same reason, as it clashed with the Esports World Cup 2026.
