StarLadder StarSeries Budapest 2025 group stage replaced with online qualifier

Tournament operator StarLadder has announced a change in the format of the upcoming StarLadder StarSeries Budapest 2025 Counter-Strike 2 tournament.

The group stage of the event, which was originally supposed to play out in a LAN format, as well as all regional qualifiers, have been replaced with one European online qualifier. It will take place from August 13 to 17 with the participation of 16 squads (they will be invited based on the VRS rating).

According to the official statement, this decision was made with Valve's approval, "minimize scheduling conflicts with other CS2 tournaments, streamline operations, and ensure a high level of competition at the playoffs stage".

The main stage of StarLadder StarSeries Budapest 2025 will be held from September 18 to 21, 2025. The four strongest squads from the qualifiers will join the four invitees.
