STYKO benched by Inner Circle

Esports organization Inner Circle has once again announced changes to its Counter-Strike 2 roster ahead of the start of the new competitive season. This time, the club benched Martin "STYKO" Styk. The official statement was published on the X social media.

The 29-year-old esports athlete from Slovakia has represented Inner Circle since January of this year. The player himself commented on the news as follows:

It is a bit frustrating, but this move aligns with the team’s broader strategic goals and doesn’t reflect my performance, leadership, or passion. I appreciate they gave me a shot in a new IGL role, and I support their vision; I understand this is how business goes sometimes.

I feel great in IGL role and I want to continue in it. I see a lot of progress in myself these past 6 months despite poor results, which is leaving a bittersweet feeling of wanting more, and motivating me.

This hunger mainly comes from the fact that I 100% believe in myself, and even if this sounds bold, I will say that I can improve a lot of rosters as a captain. If I wouldn’t be confident in myself, why should anyone else be?

Note that last month, the organization also parted ways with Tomáš "oskar" Šťastný and benched Fredrik "Fessor" Sørensen and Marcus "Q-Q" Krolak-Henriksen. In addition, in early June, Piotr "nawrot" Nawrocki became the team's new coach, placing Sergey "lmbt" Bezhanov.
