Official: chelo back with Imperial
27-year-old Brazilian esports athlete Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes has returned to Imperial's Counter-Strike 2 roster. The organization officially announced this via its X social media account. Cespedes replaced Richard "chayJESUS" Seidy, who was benched by the club at the end of last month.
chelo competed for FURIA from July 2023 to April 2025 (recording an average rating of 1.00 in over 309 maps), after which the organization moved him to the bench, where he has remained until today. Before joining FURIA, Cespedes represented Imperial for about a year.
Note that a few days ago, Imperial also benched Lucas "decenty" Bacelar. According to rumors, his place in the team will be taken by José "Shr" Gil.
Imperial placed 28th-30th at BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025. The squad is currently in the top 44 of Valve's world ranking.
Current Imperial's lineup looks as follows:
Vinicius "VINI" Figueiredo
Kaiky "noway" Santos
Santino "try" Rigal
Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes
Rafael "zakk" Fernandes (coach)
