BLAST Open London 2025 Group Stage to be held online

Tournament operator BLAST has officially announced that the group stage of the second season of BLAST Open series tournament will be held online. The final stage of the event will take place at OVO Arena Wembley in London.

The reasons why BLAST abandoned the LAN format for the Open London group stage are not disclosed. Recall that at the first tournament of the BLAST Open series this year, the group stage was held at the BLAST studio in Copenhagen, after which the six best teams went to Lisbon for the playoffs.

Thus, Rivals will be the only competition from BLAST in the second half of the season that will be held entirely on LAN. The tournament will play out from November 12 to 16 in Hong Kong.

The online part of BLAST Open London 2025 kicks off on August 27. 12 of the 16 teams will be invited to the event based on Valve's ranking, while the remaining four squads will secure slots through BLAST Rising tournaments in Europe, North America, South America, and Asia.

BLAST also previously announced a partnership with GamingMalta for a minimum of three years, under which the organizer will hold nine tournaments in various esports disciplines, including Counter-Strike 2.
