StarLadder announces CS2 Major in Budapest
Tournament operator StarLadder will hold the second Counter-Strike 2 Major this year. The event will take place in the capital of Hungary, Budapest, from November 24 to December 14. The official statement was published on X social media.
The competition will feature 32 teams; it will include four stages – all of them will be held with live audience. The first three stages will play out at MTK Sportpark with a seating capacity of 2,000 people, while the playoff matches will take place at the MVM Dome stadium, with a seating capacity of 20,000. The schedule of stages looks as follows:
Stage 1 (MTK Sportpark) – November 24-27
Stage 2 (MTK Sportpark) – November 29 - December 2
Stage 3 (MTK Sportpark) – December 4-7
Playoffs (MVM Dome) – December 11-14
Note that in April of this year, StarLadder officially announced its return to the Counter-Strike pro scene – the company revealed four new tournaments from the StarSeries series, which will be held in 2025 and 2026. The previous LAN tournament from StarLadder in CS – StarSeries i-League Season 8 featuring a prize pool of half a million dollars – played out in the fall of 2019 in Turkey (EG won it).
