Perfect World change CAC 2025 dates and prize pool

Tournament operator Perfect World has announced new details about the upcoming CS Asia Championships 2025 Counter-Strike 2 tournament, which will be held in Shanghai, China, at the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center, where the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 playoffs played out.

In particular, the organizers have postponed the event to later dates – October 14-19, 2025 (the competition was initially scheduled for October 1-13). Now the competition will overlap not with ESL Pro League Season 22, but with the less prestigious Nomadic Masters Fall and Thunderpick World Championship.

The prize pool for the upcoming tournament has been increased to one million US dollars (the event in 2023 featured $500,000), of which $600,000 will go to clubs, and $400,000 to players.

The competition will feature 16 squads, 10 of which will be invited directly based on Valve's ranking. Six more teams will be selected through regional qualifiers (in Europe, North America, South America, and Asia). Competitions will take place in July and August, with the Asian qualifier being played on LAN.
