ESL roll out statement regarding scheduling conflict between PGL Astana 2025 and IEM Dallas 2025

Tournament operator ESL has released a statement regarding the teams that will be participating in the upcoming PGL Astana 2025 and IEM Dallas 2025 Counter-Strike 2 tournaments. The squads in question are Eternal Fire, The MongolZ, G2, GamerLegion, and FURIA.

Note that the event in Dallas kicks off the day after the tournament in Astana ends, that is, on May 19. In the statement, ESL claims that it is allowing participation in both competitions, despite the "tremendous risk" of forfeits.

Rosters that reach the top 4 at PGL Astana 2025 will not be able to arrive to the United States (according to ESL's statement) until 12:45 on May 19, which will result in missing the media day and the risk of forfeits in case of any delays.

The statement also noticed that teams will be fined $4,000 and lose 5% of their prize money if they miss media activities, which is inevitable for those who make it into the top four at the event in Kazakhstan.

ESL also reminded about the rules regarding forfeits: the first map of the series is counted as a loss if a squad does not show up 15 minutes after the assigned start time; the entire match is counted as a loss 30 minutes after the assigned start time.

IEM Dallas 2025 will be held from May 19 to 25 in Dallas, USA. The competition will feature a total prize pool of $300,000 – it will be divided among 16 rosters. The full team list for the event can be found via the link.

PGL Astana 2025 will take place from May 10 to 18, 2025 in Astana, Kazakhstan. The total prize pool of the event will amount to $1.25 million, half of which will go to the players and half to the clubs.
