vanity retires from esports

26-year-old American esports athlete Anthony "vanity" Malaspina announced the end of his esports career. He reported this via his X social media account, sharing his plans for the near future.

I've decided to step away from pursuing professional play, After the whole 2023 Cloud9 situation i've felt the same way and at first I thought it was just me disliking the formats in Valorant/just being jaded from what happened, but after attempting to play CS for a few months I think I've just grown out of this part of my life and it's time to close the door on it.

I will be going back to school to finish my degree part time & pursue streaming full time for 6 months, if I don't enjoy it or it seems unsustainable after 6 months I will be going back to finish my degree full time.

Note that Malaspina has been competing in VALORANT for the last four years and returned to the Counter-Strike 2 pro scene in December 2024, joining FLUFFY AIMERS for a trial period. According to rumors, the squad was supposed to move under the tag of TSM.

vanity's career in CS lasted from 2017 to 2020. During this time, he earned $67,000 in prize money. His last team was Chaos.
