groove and Sweetypotz depart Cloud9

North American esports organization Cloud9 announced parting ways with coach Konstantin "groove" Pikiner and manager Alexandr "Sweetypotz" Shcherbakov.

The official statement, published on the club's X social media account, claimed that Cloud9 is "taking a step back" and has "no immediate plans to re-enter" the game. However, the organization does not rule out the possibility of returning to the discipline under suitable circumstances. "We love CS and are always on the lookout for opportunities", the announcement states.

Note that not long ago, Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov, Sergey "Ax1Le" Rykhtorov, Nikita "HeavyGod" Martynenko, Timofey "interz" Yakushin and Kaisar "ICY" Faiznurov also departed Cloud9. The first two moved to BetBoom Team, HeavyGod joined G2, ICY was bought by Virtus.pro, while interz is currently inactive.

Cloud9 took the penultimate place at Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024. The squad won only one match in the first stage of the Major. The roster occupied 26th place in HLTV ranking.
