ESL announces new tournament details for 2025, providing clubs with more financial support

Tournament operator ESL has revealed new details about the ESL Pro Tour (EPT) system in 2025. The company has unveiled a special club support program, in which 16 teams that contribute the most to the EPT (in the form of views, tournament participation, and promotional activities) will share $2.95 million.

In addition, ESL announced that the 21st season of EPL, scheduled for March of next year, will not take place in Malta, as before, but at the ESL studio in Stockholm.

ESL also revealed changes to the prize distribution system for its Counter-Strike 2 events. Starting in 2025, the prize money will be divided into two categories: player prize money and club prize money.

The prize pool for IEM Katowice and IEM Cologne has been increased by a quarter of a million US dollars and now stands at $1.25 million. The Katowice and Cologne competitions will be the only tournaments where players will receive the lion's share of the prizes ($1 million will go to teams, the remaining $250,000 to clubs). The remaining events will each feature $1 million in prize money, while the players' share will amount to between 30% and 40%.
