deko goes inactive

Esports organization Aurora announced changes to its Counter-Strike 2 roster after an unsuccessful performance at RMR. Denis "deko" Zhukov departed the team's starting five and took a break from his career as a pro player. According to an official statement from Aurora, deko's contract with the club was frozen.

We’ve been discussing on how to come to the common denominator. Taking into account Denis’s wishes and how he sees his future, we mutually decided to freeze the contract. Denis will be able to return to the professional stage at any time, and we will be happy to facilitate this.

What’s now? Denis remains as a representative of our organization. It is important to note: we do not prevent deko from playing in any media-tournaments. We will follow him and celebrate his successes as our own.

The Russian esports athlete has represented Aurora since November of last year, while before that he was part of 1WIN. Zhukov's average rating over the past three months amounted to 1.12 (in 60 maps). Over the course of his Counter-Strike career, Denis has earned $152,000 in prize money. It is still unknown who will take his position in the lineup.

Note that Aurora finished its performance at the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 Europe RMR B with one win and three losses. The squad bested B8, but suffered losses to Eternal Fire, Team Spirit, and 9 Pandas. Thus, the rostee will miss the upcoming Counter-Strike 2 Shanghai Major.

 Aurora are now:

 Viktor "Lack1" Boldyrev
 Evgeny "Norwi" Ermolin
 Aleksandr "KENSI" Gurkin
 Timur "clax" Sabirov

 Stepan "brain" Sivoronov (coach)
