Deciders for 4th place cancelled at RMR — invites to second stage of Major to be issued based on Valve rating
Tournament operator Perfect World has cancelled the deciders for fourth place in the standings of the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 final RMR in Counter-Strike 2. Moreover, the result of a similar decider in the Europe RMR A (between FaZe and Cloud9) was annulled.
Initially, the Major rulebook stated that invites to the Elimination Stage would be determined based on the official Valve ranking before the start of the tournament. However, Perfect World adjusted the rules and announced that the four strongest participants from each of the Europe RMRs would secure slots in the second stage of the Major.
The change was agreed upon with the Counter-Strike 2 developers before the start of the qualifiers, but halfway through the final RMR, Valve reversed this decision and ordered Perfect World to cancel deciders.
Thus, invites to the Elimination Stage of Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 will be issued to RMR participants based on their positions in the Valve ranking, which, in turn, will be updated after the end of the qualifiers.
