Valve updates rules for issuing tournament invites in 2025

Counter-Strike 2 developers have made some changes to the regulations that tournament operators will have to follow when holding competitions next year.

The adjustments concern the rules for determining the invitees to events. Thus, organizers will not be able to divide regions into separate subregions when issuing invitations. For example, if a TO holds an event in Asia, it must take into account the entire Asian scene as a whole, and not its individual regions, such as Southeast Asia.

At the same time, this rule will not affect tier-2 tournaments – their organizers have the right to introduce additional filters in the process of issuing invites (provided that they are not adjusted to specific teams).

In addition, the updated rulebook now states that tournament operators can use the most recent version of the official Valve ranking when issuing invites.
