BLAST requests ESIC investigation into Astralis' situation

Tournament operator BLAST has requested the Esports Ethics Commission (ESIC) to conduct a formal investigation into the situation with Team Astralis that arose at the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 tournament. The statement was published on BLAST's X social media account.

Astralis' request for an emergency substitution has been a continually evolving situation with conflicting information presented to BLAST.

We’ve held what we hoped would be final discussions with Astralis and the player’s representatives over the last few days to clarify the situation, which resulted with both parties voicing different positions.

As a result, we have requested ESIC to conduct a formal investigation into the matter.

Note that Casper "cadiaN" Møller was registered for BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 after the roster lock as an emergency replacement. Astralis management claimed that Alexander "br0" Bro was unable to compete due to health issues, but Bro's agent stated that he was healthy and ready to play.

After this, the IGLs of the seven teams registered for BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 in Counter-Strike 2 issued an open letter to the organizers, in which they called on BLAST to force Astralis to compete at the event with coach Casper "ruggah" Due instead of cadiaN. BLAST's representatives stood by their decision, but applied sanctions to Astralis.

Notably, Astralis has already finished its journey at the competition – the squad shared the last place with Falcons and earned $10,000 in prize money. BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 is held from September 25 to 29 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The total prize pool of the event is $425,000.
