StarLadder reveals StarSeries S20 details

Tournament operator StarLadder has revealed details of the previously announced LAN event StarSeries Season 20. The upcoming competition with a prize pool of $500,000 is scheduled for September 13th-31st, 2025 in Budapest, Hungary.

A total of 20 teams will participate in StarLadder StarSeries Season 20, some of which will be invited based on Valve's world ranking. The top 4 squads in the ranking will receive invites directly to the main part of the tournament, the next 12 rosters will compete in the offline qualifiers, while the remaining four slots will go to the winners of the online qualifiers.

Open qualifiers will be held in Europe, North America, and South America. The dates and other details of the regional competitions will be unveiled at the end of 2024.

The StarSeries S20 group stage will take place from September 13 to 17 with 16 teams participating, which will be divided into groups in a GSL format. The top four will advance to the main part of the tournament, where they will fight against the best teams in the world in a Double Elimination BO3 bracket.

Note that StarLadder announced its return to the Counter-Strike pro scene in early April and revealed four seasons of StarSeries, two of which are scheduled to take place next year. Keep in mind that details of StarSeries S19 have not yet been disclosed.
