OverDrive: ESIC may block ICY's transfer to Cloud9

American esports club Cloud9 is having difficulty buying out Kaisar "ICY" Faiznurov from AMKAL. The transfer may be prevented by the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC). Insider and scout Alexey "OverDrive" Birukov announced this during his Twitch stream.

I was told that ICY cannot move to Cloud9, because there is some kind of situation that if he joins Cloud9, then Cloud9 may be banned by ESIC for violating some rights. I don’t know how they will negotiate it.

ICY has been competing for the Russian organization since December of last year. A few days ago, AMKAL announced ICY's benching after rumors emerged that Cloud9 was interested in Faiznurov. The club has also launched an investigation into whether there has been any "unfair behaviour".

According to insiders, such a decision could have been made due to the fact that the esports athlete from Kazakhstan allegedly was trialing at Cloud9 without AMKAL being aware of it. The manager of the American organization, Alexandr "sweetypotz" Shcherbakov, denied these rumors.
