Vorborg retires as coach

Former coach of Evil Geniuses and Copenhagen Flames Daniel "Vorborg" Vorborg has announced the end of his coaching career. The 31-year-old Dane shared this via his X account, explaining the reasons for this decision.

I've always known that I wouldn't be coaching forever, since you sacrifice everything else in your life. The working hours are insane, you constantly travel and your entire life is revolving around competing and improving, and at some point I would need to start prioritizing my family more. I probably still had a couple of years left in me, where I could make the sacrifices needed, but I've received another opportunity that I just could not turn down.

Vorborg also added that he will regret to the end of his days that he was never able to reach his full potential as a coach.

At the same time, the Dane does not plan to completely leave esports – instead, he will focus his attention on the "business side of things". Vorborg promised to provide more details later about what he will do in the future.

Daniel's last team was Preasy – he coached it from August 2023 to April 2024. Before that, he also worked with Evil Geniuses and Copenhagen Flames. Together with the Danish roster, he secured 9th-11th place at PGL Major Stockholm 2021 and entered top 8 at PGL Major Antwerp 2022.
