gob b steps down as BIG coach
German club BIG announced that Fatih "gob b" Dayik was removed from the position of head coach. His place will be taken by Alexander "kakafu" Szymanczyk, who previously was an analyst on the coaching staff.
The reasons for gob b's dismissal were not reported. However, the announcement notes that the decision was made after ESL Pro League Season 19, where the team managed to reach the playoffs and eventually placed 13th-16th.
Dayik had been coaching BIG's main roster since May of 2022. The team's greatest achievements under his guidance were the victory at Roobet Cup 2022, 2nd place at Elisa Masters Espoo 2022, as well as 3rd-4th place at Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022 and IEM Dallas 2022.
It is currently unclear whether gob b will remain with the organization he has been part of since it was founded in 2017.
BIG's next tournament will be IEM Dallas 2024. The $250,000 competition will take place from May 27 to June 2 in the USA.
BIG are now:
Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz
Karim "Krimbo" Moussa
David "prosus" Hesse
Florian "syrsoN" Rische
Jon "JDC" de Castro
Alexander "kakafu" Szymanczyk (coach)
