IEM Dallas 2024 to be played on latest version of CS2

Organizers of IEM Dallas 2024, which kicks off next week, have revealed their decision to use the latest version of CS2. This means that the competition will implement the gameplay changes made to the game with the big update on May 24.

The announcement states that the tournament operator took this step because of the fix of an error that led to crashes during matches throughout the year. According to ESL, the newest version of CS2 should prevent similar crashes in the future.

Note that with the latest big update, the developers significantly reworked A bombsite on Vertigo, made tweaks that affect the economy and adjusted the effect of incendiary grenades. The full list of changes can be found via the link.

IEM Dallas 2024 will take place from May 27 to June 2 in the United States. 16 participants will compete for a prize pool of $250,000.
