Cloud9 withdraws from BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024
Cloud9 withdrew from the upcoming tournament BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024, which is only one week away. The North American club will not have time to complete the process of assembling a new roster by the start of the event.
The organizers of the competition made this statement via their social media account, promising to announce a replacement for Cloud9 in the near future. The full comment from the club's management looks as follows.
We respect our fans and can only participate in events with full dedication. This is our priority. Unfortunately, we are still in the process of updating the lineup. With this in mind, we have decided that we will not participate in the competition until our roster is fully formed. We miss competing, but as of now it is best for us to focus on finalizing the lineup.
Note that Cloud9 is currently in the process of restructuring its roster. Denis "electroNic" Sharipov was the first to depart the team in April; a few days after, Abay "HObbit" Khassenov and Ilya "Perfecto" Zalutskiy were benched.
BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 will take place from May 14 to 19 in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. The participants of the event will compete for $500,000 in prize money. Recently, the organizers announced the seeding of teams in the group stage.
